Summary:
Water is the most interesting object in a landscape. Water is integral to life process to the natural shaping of earth and landscape. The development of all human societies has involved a complex interaction with water. Water is integral to the phenomenological experience of landscape through its sound, motion and visual qualities.
In the place of the ‘city’, ‘dam’ or ‘reservoir’ as discrete entities for analysis, we find a greater emphasis on the emerging synthesis between nature and culture that characterizes modern landscapes, extending from the reconstruction of public landscapes such as flood control defences, water supply systems and hydro-electric projects to the interior
In the library, I’m going to use water some how in relation to the building (e.g. pond and fountain). Make it so that people can easily enjoy the view of the water. The sound and the view helps to concentrate and relax.
